WIN The Waddon Inclusion Network

Extended Services for Families & Children in Our Local Community

What are extended services in school?

The Waddon Inclusion Network’s vision is that our schools will be places where the whole school community can enjoy learning, access services and feel welcome.  Our schools are at the heart of our local community and we aim to offer a range of locally determined activities and services. - what will be offered will be shaped by the needs and demands of pupils, parents and the wider community.

Our  schools are already providing a lot of access to extended services, but we want   develop these further so that all children, young people and families can benefit in  Waddon.
WIN will offer all this - and more!

We all want our children to be safe, healthy, and achieve their full potential. By combining the normal school day with extra activities we’ll be giving our children the best possible start in life.
What we have developed:

  • Parenting support (things that parents and carers can be involved in too)
  • A varied menu of study support activities (lunchtime and after school clubs including help with school work)
  • Quality childcare (looking after the children when you’re not there)
  • Swift and easy access to specialist  services (the right support for when things are difficult)
  • Community use (how other parts of the community use the school)

Who will provide these?

Our Schools will work with many different  organisations including:

  • Health Services
  • Local council
  • Church and faith groups
  • Youth Clubs Local community groups
  • Parenting support groups such as Sure Start
  • Sports Clubs
  • Childcare providers

Will the extended services be free?

Some will be free - for example, specialist support services such as health advice will usually be free. Childcare and some activities offered after the school day may charge fees.

Will this all be available at my school?

Some things will be, but you will have access to different opportunities through our partner schools. This happens now in some infant and junior schools, who may share breakfast clubs and/or after-school childcare.
